Big Bang PCs – Terms & Conditions of Service
These Terms and Conditions apply to all clients engaging Big Bang PCs for products, repairs, or technical services.
By using our services, you agree to the following terms:
1. Scope of Services
Big Bang PCs provides a wide range of services, including:
• PC and laptop repairs and upgrades
• Data recovery
• Retro and modern gaming setups
• 3D printing
• Digital solutions (websites, blogs, catalogues)
• General tech support
Services are tailored to each client’s needs. Big Bang PCs reserves the right to decline work that falls outside our expertise or available resources.
2. Service Charges
• Upfront Pricing: Wherever possible, service fees are quoted in advance. Complex issues may require inspection before a quote is provided.
• Diagnostics: A non-refundable diagnostic fee may be charged for detailed troubleshooting. This fee contributes to the labour involved in fault identification.
• Quote Validity: All quotations are valid for 2 calendar days unless otherwise stated. After this period, prices may change due to market conditions.
• 3D Printing: Filament is billed at a flat rate per kilogram, based on material usage and cost.
3. Optional While-You-Wait Service
• This express service is offered in select cases and is subject to staff availability and the nature of the repair.
• Not all jobs qualify (e.g., those requiring special parts or long-term testing).
• When available, this service is billed at R350 per hour.
4. Parts & Warranty
• New Parts: Covered by the manufacturer’s standard warranty (typically 6 to 60 months).
• Used/Refurbished Parts: Where agreed, limited warranties may apply (7 to 90 days), depending on condition.
• Warranty Exclusions: Warranty is void in cases of mishandling, modification, power surges, liquid or physical damage, or tampering.
5. Turnaround Time
Standard repairs are typically completed within 5 business days, but timelines may vary due to:
• Part availability or courier delays
• Issue complexity
• Current workload or technician availability
If delays occur, we will notify you and provide an updated estimate.
6. Uncollected Items & Storage Fees
• Devices not collected within 10 days of completion will incur a R20 daily storage fee to cover secure storage and space usage.
• After 30 days, if no arrangements have been made, Big Bang PCs reserves the right to dispose of or resell the item to recover costs.
7. Client Responsibility for Data
• Clients are responsible for backing up their data before submitting devices.
• Big Bang PCs is not liable for data loss, corruption, or damage unless a written agreement is in place for data services.
• Data recovery is performed on a best-effort basis and is not guaranteed.
8. Limitation of Liability
While all care is taken during repairs:
• Big Bang PCs is not responsible for pre-existing faults, latent defects, or complications arising from previous damage.
• We do not guarantee compatibility or performance of third-party software or unsupported operating systems.
• Liability is strictly limited to the cost of the service rendered. We are not liable for indirect losses, including missed income or downtime.
9. Payments
• Upfront Payment: For many services—especially those involving special orders, extensive labour, or digital work—payment (either partial or full) is required before work begins. This will be clearly stated when quoting the job.
• Final Payment: Full payment is required upon collection or completion, unless otherwise arranged in writing.
• Accepted Methods: We accept cash and card payments only. Equipment or services will only be released once payment is confirmed.
• Acknowledgement: Making payment constitutes acceptance of the completed work and agreement to these terms.
10. Shipping & Delivery
• Clients may arrange collection or delivery via courier or other means with prior notice.
• All shipping is at the client’s risk and expense. Big Bang PCs is not responsible for damage or loss once the item has left our premises.
11. Governing Law
All services are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes will fall under South African legal jurisdiction. Clients are encouraged to raise any concerns promptly for resolution.
12. Amendments to Terms
Big Bang PCs reserves the right to update or modify these terms at any time. The latest version will be available on our website or by request. Clients are encouraged to review the terms periodically.
